Clash on Lebanese border: One Israeli soldier killed, 10 civilians injured

Israeli army by Lebanon on the border of Hezbollah has confirmed the death of one of its soldiers and the wounding of two others in a clash with Israel, while 10 Israeli civilians have been injured in rocket attacks in central Israel.

According to the Reuters news agency, the Israeli army said in a statement issued on Monday morning that one of its soldiers was killed in fighting on the Lebanese border, while two others were seriously injured.

Israel said on Monday, on the one-year anniversary of the October 7 attack by Hamas, that 380 Israeli soldiers were killed in the October 7 attack, while 346 more soldiers have been killed in the Gaza conflict so far.

Israeli police said that on Sunday night, Hezbollah rockets passed through Israeli air defense systems and fell in Haifa, Israel’s third largest city, damaging several buildings. Israeli media reported that 10 people were injured in the rocket attacks in Haifa and Tiberias.

Meanwhile, at least 26 people were killed and 93 others injured in the Strip on Sunday when Israeli airstrikes hit a mosque and a school where displaced people were sheltering, according to Gaza’s official media office. The Israeli military said it had struck “Hamas terrorists”.
