sc Heerenveen – PEC Zwolle 061024

PEC Zwolle has gained a point from the visit to SC Heerenveen. A quick goal by Davy van den Berg is quickly neutralized by the Frisians. What follows is a match in which PEC Zwolle can certainly hope for more after the break, but the score remains 1-1.

PEC had a dream start in the Abe Lenstra stadium, as the score was 0-1 within three minutes. It was Davy van den Berg with a precise slide, who shot Dylan Mbayo’s cross from the right behind former Zwolle goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart. PEC could not enjoy it for long, because it was Dimitris Rallis who scored the equalizer on the edge of offside.

Difficult to relax

After that, the home team got into the game better and also had the better chances. But the Frisian attempts yielded no goals. Just before half time, Younes Namli was very dangerous again on behalf of PEC Zwolle. His attempt was saved with some effort by Van der Hart, at the expense of a corner.

Better in second half

Supported by a full and passionately sympathetic away section, PEC went on the hunt for a new lead in the second half. It was immediately Namli who started a nice dribble, but his attempt went wide. Anselmo García Mac Nulty also had a nice heading opportunity, which disappeared wide of the Frisian goal. The home team offered little in return, Johnny Jansen’s men had the upper hand for a long time after the break.

Rentree Thomas

There was a nice moment ten minutes before the end, when Ryan Thomas was allowed to make his return after a long period of injury. In the final phase there were no more major opportunities, allowing PEC Zwolle to score the second point away from home.

After the international match, NAC Breda will visit Zwolle. The kick-off in the MAC3PARK stadium is Sunday, October 20 at 4:45 PM.
