Strasbourg resists Lens, Reims pushes Montpellier, Brest serious against Le Havre

A week after a convincing victory in Angers (3-1) which had given them confidence in their offensive capabilities, the Rémois did it again with a good performance, marked in particular by a new goal from Japanese striker Keito Nakamura, his fourth in four consecutive meetings.

For its part, Montpellier, weakened by numerous absences, slipped to seventeenth and penultimate place and confirmed its extremely delicate start to the season, with already five defeats and 21 goals conceded. The position of coach Michel Der Zakarian could be weakened.

Brest is off to a good start

Still on their European cloud after their victory in Salzburg in the middle of the week, the Brestois also bounced back well in Ligue 1. Having missed out on their match at Auxerre, Éric Roy’s men were very serious against the HAC to win their third league victory of the season.

Above all, they were very effective with two goals, scored by Ajorque (12th) and Salah (92nd), in just three shots on target, while the visitors shot 14 times on goal without ever managing to find the target. Brest thus moves up to 10th place and gives itself a little margin on the red zone which threatens Le Havre (15th with 6 points).

Lens signed a fifth draw in a row (2-2) on Sunday for the 7th day of Ligue 1, against a sometimes clumsy but combative Strasbourg team. The Sang et Or found color on the attacking front, with two goals from Mbala Nzola (5th) and Andy Diouf (44th).

But their solid defense, still the best in the championship, collapsed with two goals conceded, as many as in the first six days, by Abakar Sylla (18th) and Habib Diarra (60th). In the standings, the Artois club, which has not won since August 25, is stagnating in sixth place with 11 points. Strasbourg, which failed to follow up after its victory against OM, climbed a notch lower, to 7th place in the ranking, with a total of 10 points.
