“I am officially saying that I am withdrawing big steps from the industry and all professional activities. I can’t cope anymore. Mainly because of blindness, but also age. Stage art also involves visual evaluation. This is not without significance. If I “I see a stain instead of a singer, so what can I say about her visual aesthetics? Nothing. However, the interviews leave no doubts. In an interview with Plejada, Elżbieta Zapendowska revealed three years ago that she had lost sight in one eye. She said: “I can’t see in one eye and I’ve come to terms with it. I’m not hysterical. I’ve gotten used to the fact that I’m losing my sight. Recently I visited a recommended doctor and heard from her: ‘If this had happened to you about 20 years ago, we would have operated on you. On October 5, Zapendowska appeared in the “Dzień Dobry TVN” studio, where she also discussed her health problems. “I think you have to come to terms with what happens in life. For years, I had been preparing for a stage when I wouldn’t be able to distinguish a woman from a man. I’m not complaining, I’m not making a big deal about it. People have bigger problems in life than me.” she said. The 77-year-old specialist has lost vision in one eye and additionally struggles with myopia, cataracts and glaucoma. It was vision problems that prompted Zapendowska to withdraw from working on television. Unfortunately, effective treatment is no longer possible.
