Paraguay exceeds USD 680 million in exports under certificate of origin in September

Asunción, IP Agency.- More than 1 million tons of products were sent abroad under this tool, in the ninth month of 2024, and the main destinations were America, Asia and Europe. In the month of September, national shipments under the certificate of origin reached USD 687 million, according to official data provided by the Single Export Window of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Of this total, the American continent absorbed products worth USD 528 million, some 955,831 tons. Within it, Brazil is positioned as the first destination, with a value of USD 223 million; followed by Argentina, with USD 150 million; in third place, Chile, with USD 73 million, and finally the United States, with USD 24 million.

Likewise, Peru and Uruguay imported national products for amounts of between USD 17 and 13 million, respectively, in this period.

Another continent receiving national shipments in the month of September is Asia, for USD 113 million, with 89,159 tons. Within this block, India’s participation stands out, with USD 26 million; Pakistan, with USD 7 million; while the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia, with USD 3 million each.

Likewise, the European continent recorded imports of USD 37 million. Also in the ninth month of the year, products under Certificate of Origin were sent to the African continent, for USD 7 million; and to Oceania, for USD 652,468 million.

The MIC highlights that the Certificate of Origin for Export is an important document for final producers and exporters, since it declares under oath that the merchandise intended for export complies with the established rules of origin.

Furthermore, this certificate not only offers tariff benefits in the destination country, but also allows you to take advantage of the available import quota. Likewise, the certificate has a validity period of 180 days, counted from the date of its issuance, in accordance with what is established in each commercial agreement.

The cost of the document varies depending on the invoice presented by the company and can range between 1 and 7 days. Payment is made electronically, providing greater convenience and efficiency in the process, says the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
