It has already been 15 years since the possibility of creating a micro-enterprise has existed in France, and yet it was not a given for this regime which aroused both enthusiasm and reservations. However, today, the micro-enterprise is well known to the French.
According to an Adie survey carried out with Appinio, 8 out of 10 French people know even a little about the micro-enterprise regime, and 65.2% of French people know or are micro-entrepreneurs in their entourage. themselves. A regime which seems to have been democratized. And for those who want to get started or simply learn more, Adie is organizing for this 15th anniversary, a special week dedicated to micro-enterprises throughout France, including 5 days of meetings in the Jura.
Micro-enterprise: an advantageous status for all self-entrepreneurs
Frédéric Lavenir, president of Adie, assures that “micro-enterprises have transformed the landscape of entrepreneurship in France. »And for good reason! An Adie survey carried out with Appinio reveals that 65% of current entrepreneurs would not have created or developed their business if the micro-entrepreneur regime did not exist and 32.9% of them consider that micro- business is suitable for long-term activity.
The micro-enterprise could be compared to a company like any other, which in fact has the same rights and duties, and yet… In addition to being open to all sectors of activity, the micro-enterprise benefits from more formalities. simplified when it was created and the tax protections surrounding it are unprecedented. Indeed, in the event that the micro-entrepreneur does not achieve a turnover, he would not have any social security contributions to pay and therefore no income tax. In addition to this, within the framework of a purchasing or resale activity, the micro-entrepreneur can reach a turnover of up to €188,700 and a maximum of €77,700 for a service activity or of services.
According to the same survey cited above, 7 out of 10 French people believe that micro-enterprises have contributed to popularizing the desire to undertake, in addition to being accessible to all profiles. A diversity of ages, diversity, and the possibility of getting started with little or no capital. In fact, 79% of micro-entrepreneurs set out with €2,000 or less to start their business, compared to 30% of so-called “classic” entrepreneurs. Among the 2.7 million active self-employed businesses, 28.8% of micro-entrepreneurs are also employees and therefore multi-active.
Thus, there are many reasons which could explain that, among the 31,209 companies created in Burgundy Franche-Comté in 2023, 65% of them are micro-enterprises.
