The Lions Frankfurt were extremely successful in their away double pack. Friday’s success in Iserlohn was followed by an easy victory at Düsseldorfer EG on Sunday evening. The Hessians prevailed 3-0 (2-0, 1-0, 0-0), won the fourth game in a row and are still at the top of the DEL field in this young season.

As on Friday, Lions professional Cameron Brace got off to a good start this time and took the lead in the power play with a powerful attempt into the far corner (7th minute). Markus Lauridsen made it 2-0 seven minutes later with a slap shot from the backcourt. In the Frankfurt box, goalkeeper Cody Brenner impressed with good saves and saved a total of 33 Düsseldorf attempts on goal. Daniel Pfaffengut finally scored the third goal in the second third (38th).

Hesse clubs lose in DEL2

In the second ice hockey league (DEL2), the Hessian representatives had a bad day on Sunday and had to accept bitter defeats. The Kassel Huskies lost the top game in their own hall 1:3 (0:2, 1:1, 0:0) against EV Landshut and thus also lost to the top of the table. EC Bad Nauheim suffered a 0:4 (0:2, 0:1, 0:1) defeat at Starbulls Rosenheim away from home.

Ryan Olsen scored for Kassel to make it 1-2 from North Hesse’s perspective. The Huskies are still at the top of the table, while Bad Nauheim is only second to last after nine match days.
