Canal Once premiered a blockbuster, which, based on a family story, opens our eyes even more to expose what many did not want – nor do they want – to see.
CDMX. October 4, 2024.- Cinco Radio Live Radio confirmed that this week, Canal Once, recognized as the first public television station in Mexico, premiered the miniseries “The wounded years,” which narrates the tragic events on October 2, 1968 in Tlatelolco.
This project is made up of nine episodes that explore the revolutionary movements of the second half of the Mexican 20th century and the Dirty War of the 60s and 70s. The series will be broadcast every Saturday at 8:30 p.m. on open TV [en el 11.1] and is also available on the television station’s YouTube channel.
“The wounded years” begins with the personal story of Ana Laura, a university student who, starting on her mother’s birthday, discovers the dark history of her family. Through hidden documents and vestiges of the past, he reveals that his grandfather was not really his relative, but that his mother is daughter of a guerrilla who fought in those years of violence and repression.
A production that revives the past with force
Directed and written by Francisco Vargas Quevedo and starring the leading actress Socorro Bonilla, the miniseries features interviews with important protagonists of the time like the writer José Reveles and María de Lourdes Rodríguez “Lula”. The plot is based on the book by Puebla writer Fritz Glockner, whose title is the same as the series.

Gravedad Cero Films, El Once and Capital 21, came together in this blockbuster, which does not match the style of the SPR (Mexican State Public Broadcasting System) in other presentations, but it does adjust to the economic and human resources available to portray this important episode in the history of Mexico, with veracity, unpublished documents and materials and a plot that never “releases” the public.

This miniseries seeks to offer a deeper and more critical account of what happened in 1968, pointing out those responsible as corrupt, murderers and unpunished.
