With 1,034 votes, the lawyer Martín Darío Moreno Argüello was elected on the night of Saturday, October 5, as Regional Chieftain of the Zenú People, for the departments of Córdoba and Sucre.

The election, which is carried out through the cantao voting modality, was carried out on Saturday with the accompaniment of units from the Córdoba Police Department who arrived at the election site located between the towns of Tuchín and San Andrés de Sotavento.

The presence of the Police occurred with the purpose of safeguarding order given that since Thursday a group of supporters of the candidate Eder Espitia Estrada, one of the candidates, blocked the Western Trunk, as it passes through the municipality of Chinú, demanding guarantees for the electoral process.

Moreno Argüello won with his high vote over the candidacies of Eder Espitia Estrada and Domingo Baltazar Flórez, who won the blank victory.

In the government of Martín Darío Moreno Argüello he will be accompanied in the general secretary by Yamid Amath Rivera Morales; in the treasury Jorge Luis Rosario Nisperuza; Miguel Ramos Beltrán will be in the territorial council; the woman’s advisor is Yusleida Pienda Atencio; the Ministry of Human Rights, victims, peace and coexistence was under the leadership of Ferney José Hernández Santos; The advisor of own education, culture and sports is Fidel Enrique Murillo Santos, and the advisor of own and intercultural health is Naldo Beltrán Mendoza.

Juan Pablo Reyes Solano was appointed as advisor of economic development, sovereignty and food security; the communications advisor is Horacio de Jesús Villalobo Posada; The settlement counselor is Yeni Luz Alemán Urán, and the mohan is Carlos Montalvo.

All these leaders of the new Zenú government were sworn in on the night of Saturday, October 5.

The vote reached by Martín Darío Moreno Argüello is historic, which “demonstrates the unanimous decision of the Zenú people to consolidate their autonomy and their system of government,” said the Zenú people of Córdoba and Sucre.
