Asunción, IP Agency.- This Thursday, in commemoration of Dentist’s Day, the Ministry of Public Health greets dental professionals, celebrating the tireless work of those who ensure the smiles and well-being of the population.
Oral health is a priority for the general well-being of the population, and in Paraguay, the Government emphasizes its commitment to guaranteeing access to quality dental services for all; For this reason, 1,226 dentists are at the service throughout the national territory.
In this context, the Ministry of Health reported an investment of USD 5,000,000 in dental supplies; as well as the delivery of 950 dental equipment and 29 new dental chairs to the population in order to enhance the service provided.
Through efficient management initiatives and comprehensive care programs, we are making progress in promoting better dental health for children, young people, adults and seniors.
Among them is the “Growing Smiling Program” carried out in the country’s schools, for which 125,000 oral hygiene kits have been acquired, consisting of a toothbrush and toothpaste, which will be distributed in schools to support the project. «Zero Hunger».
Pregnant women and early childhood children are a priority, being cared for through the “A Smile is Born Program,” ensuring their well-being in this important stage of life.
In another part of the report, the delivery of 269 dental prostheses to older people in different parts of the country is detailed, restoring their quality of life and self-esteem.
In addition to the incorporation of three inclusive dental offices in the city of Encarnación, in the Acosta Ñu Children’s Pediatric Hospital and in the city of Carapeguá, fully equipped for differentiated care.
Regarding the actions promoted, there are also in-person and virtual training for dentists from the services dependent on the health portfolio in order to strengthen the programs contemplated by the Oral Health Directorate, providing coverage for 1,003 dental professionals in this period.
The Ministry of Health affirms that the aforementioned advances are a testament to the government’s commitment to improving public health. By ensuring access to quality dental services, investing in prevention and education, and strengthening the comprehensive health system, we are building a future where oral health is a priority for everyone.
