SECRETARY General (Sekjen) DPR RI Indra Iskandar said that the leadership of the DPR RI will not receive an official housing allowance because they will still use the official residence in the Widya Chandra Complex, Jakarta (4/10). Meanwhile, other DPR RI members for the 2024-2029 period will receive this allowance because they will not receive official housing. He said the DPR RI official residence was returned to the state because it was no longer fit for habitation.

“The DPR leadership, based on a letter from the Ministry of Finance to us, does not receive allowances,” said Indra at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta,
Friday (5/10).

He said that the DPR RI members would receive the official housing allowance along with their salaries. However, according to him, his party still has not received definite figures regarding the allowances that will be given to the people’s representatives.

According to him, the Secretariat General of the DPR RI will still consult on this matter with the Ministry of Finance. Apart from that, his party will also conduct a survey regarding residences around Jakarta to determine
the allowance figure.

“Similar institutions such as the DPR or this or that, there is a range. And that is just for reference, we will still look at market mechanisms later,” he said.

So far, according to him, there have been no changes or new regulations to the allowances for DPR RI members. All allowances for people’s representatives still refer to the old regulations, including financial rights.

As reported, circulating since Thursday (3/10) regarding the DPR RI Secretariat General’s Letter Number B/733/RT.01/09/2024 regarding the handover of members’ residences.
