They search for crocodiles in Acapulco after the passage of John – El Heraldo de Juárez

ACAPULCO. Of the 40 crocodiles who managed to escape sharp crocodilein the Barra Vieja area, due to the flooding caused by the passage of the Hurricane John, at least 35 remain free.

Before the flooding caused by the rains recorded for five days, in the Environmental Management Unit (UMA) o sharp crocodilethere were a total of 60 crocodiles, of which 40 escaped.

Rufino García, in charge of the place, indicated that from the moment the reptiles They left the place, the authorities were notified to capture them.

State government authorities, through the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil ProtectionSemarnat and Profepa, implemented a special operation for the sighting of the reptiles on the beach of Puerto Marqués and inside some homes in the area, among the rubble left by John.

They indicated that due to the rise in sea level and lagoons, crocodiles go out to search food and warm places to regulate their temperature.

According to the authorities, five specimens have been captured, however, they were relocated to their natural habitat.

They indicated that the operation will continue in the beach and lagoon areas to detect more reptiles.
