The wall play inside Halmstad’s penalty area gave Hammarby three points.

Bazoumana Touré got the ball back from Jusef Erabi.

– First assist in the Allsvenskan, in a really nice way, says Erabi and laughs.

Hammarby’s 18-year-old gold nugget Bazoumana Touré had gone goalless from his last five games, but on Saturday he decided for Bajen against HBK.

Touré received a high ball in the penalty area, which he headed on to Jusef Erabi.

Erabi had a decent miss on the volley, but it didn’t matter. Because the ball went back to Touré, whose volley was on target.

– It’s always nice to be able to contribute. That we win with that goal is really nice, says Erabi.

But he admits that the assist was not meaningful.

– I want to shoot at the goal but it goes a little wrong. But God is with me. I already feel when the ball came towards me that it was quite loose, and I didn’t know if (Joseph) Baffoe was behind me. So I just wanted to finish quickly, and it was left footed too so it wasn’t the best combination there. But points are points, he says.

Several chances

Hammarby won the match 1–0 after hitting both post and crossbar and came close to extending their lead.

At one point, Touré also wanted to invite Erabi back when he was clear in the penalty area, but the sideways pass was broken by HBK veteran Andreas Johansson.

Halmstad never came close to an equaliser, even though it was the visitors who impressed the most in the first half.

– The first half we get exactly where we want except for goals. Creates a number of opportunities to take the lead, but unfortunately we don’t get dividends, which you need in our situation, says HBK’s coach Johan Lindholm.

“Not stupid in the head”

He gets the support of Hammarby’s coach Kim Hellberg.

– Maybe we should be behind after the first half. Then I think we play a really strong second half and I’m impressed by the boys that they bounce back, says Hellberg.

Hellberg takes responsibility for the weak first half, which ended with scattered boos from the crowd.

– The coaching profession is complex and sometimes the results are judged quite harshly. Against AIK and today we don’t do good first halves and it ends up somewhere on me, that I don’t manage to do it well enough.

Erabi believes that the playing squad must also take responsibility when they perform worse.

– We are not stupid in the head, once we play we see what is happening and what is missing. It is part of our professionalism to be able to do it better. It’s not something I think Kim should take on, but I think we players should be sharper there, he says.

MFF will have to wait

Hammarby broke a negative trend against HBK. Bajen had not won an allsvenskan match between the teams since 2017 and at home the winless streak in the allsvenskaninfoclosei allsvenskanIn the super league, Hammarby has won against Halmstad during this period. all the way back to 2008.

The result also means that Malmö FF will have to wait with the celebration. The SM gold cannot be finished with a victory in Sunday’s match against IFK Värnamo.

With one match more played than their Stockholm competitors, Hammarby is now up to second place in the Allsvenskan.

For HBK, it looks worse. The team has still only won one of their 14 games after the summer break and is in a negative qualifying position.
