SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica (EFE).— Cyberattacks are increasingly faster and more difficult to detect, and are more frequently targeting the cloud and democratic processes globally, warned the chief security officer of the security company. cybersecurity CrowdStrike, Shawn Henry.
“The threats from our adversaries force us to be resilient. They continue to innovate and try to exploit new technologies,” said Henry during a presentation at the “Latam CISO Summit 2024” event, which brings together international cybersecurity experts from the public and private sectors in Costa Rica.
According to Henry, in 2024 the speed of attacks has increased. On average an attack lasts 62 minutes, but the fastest has been detected in 2 minutes and 7 seconds.
Many times these attacks are difficult to detect, which increases the response time of organizations, he warned. In addition, attackers are already using artificial intelligence.
Henry also warned that a 75% increase in attacks has been detected in the cloud, which is where most data is currently stored.
