A few days before the start of the 2024-2025 campaign of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), the Navegantes del Magallanes continue to make moves and on this occasion they announced the hiring of imported pitcher Steven “Stevie” Ledesma.
Ángel Conde, Magallanes’ press officer, reported that Ledesma is a 1.96 meter tall right-hander who was signed with the Detroit Tigers organization and that in recent years he has developed his career in independent circuits in the United States such as Frontier League, American Association, Atlantic League and also the Mexican Baseball League (LMB).
In this sense, during 2024 the 28-year-old right-hander divided his actions between Aztec baseball with Acereros de Monclova and in the Atlantic League with the ninth Charleston Dirty Birds.
In 23 combined appearances, 14 as a starter, he went 4W-3L with a 4.86 earned run percentage, in addition to completing 85.2 innings with 35 walks and 57 strikeouts.

Likewise, the native of Ventura, California, was a key player in the playoffs for his team to get a place in the Grand Final, by making two appearances in relief status in which he took the victory by accumulating 7.0 blank episodes with four hits allowed, the same number of walks and seven fanned.
“Steven is a pitcher who can be a starter or long reliever, and he has three good pitches: splitter, slider and fastball,” said Luis Blasini, Sports Manager of La Nave.
