Paul Marie Gondjout in the crosshairs of the clerks –

In an open letter co-signed by their respective presidents, recently published on social networks and co-signed by their respective managers, Christ Ndong and Henry Thytis Moréty, the National Union of Clerks of Gabon (SYNAGREF) and the Union of Clerks of Gabon (SGG) draw up a vitriolic indictment on the action of the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals during the past judicial year. A year during which Paul Marie Gondjout would have shone with broken promises, without the slightest progress on the socio-professional demands and other legitimate expectations of those concerned. Disappointed and particularly upset, “We will hold you without ambivalence responsible for the dysfunction of the public service of justice and the deterioration of the working climate which would prevail in the days to come, both in the courts and in the chancellery”, they said. -they fumed at the Keeper of the Seals.

“Today, Mr. Minister, our hopes have faded, our joy and our confidence have collapsed, our dreams of seeing fairness for all stakeholders in the house of justice have vanished, leaving nothing but our pens and pencils for audience notes »regretted as if to set the scene, the union leaders who signed the said letter.

The clerks say they have obtained absolutely nothing from the current supervision, except a partial reclassification of the clerks, “born from the will of the Head of State, in reparation for the enormous damage dating back 30 years. Even what should be acquired without causing suffering, namely, the special status, the restoration of the Directorate of Registries and the hearing costumes. Nothing at all, except your promises which have never seen the beginning of a solution”lamented the protesters.

“Mr. Minister, all the clerks of Gabon would like to know why have you taken upon yourself the commitment to postpone the constructive reforms which keep the clerks at the bottom of the ladder? Tell us!? »they subsequently asked themselves, probably outraged.

At the same time, the clerks consider the non-compliance of the Joint Administrative Commission (JAC), a legal obligation (Law 20/93 of 08/27/1993), as contempt for their body, they assert; source of ‘’tripatouillages’’ in recent assignments and transfers, which they are also requesting the cancellation of for not having respected the legal procedure, we learn.

For all these grievances and for many other reasons outlined in the open letter addressed to the responsible minister, considering that their patience has reached the threshold of tolerance, the clerks fear that “discriminatory practices, injustices and contempt towards them end up undermining the climate of work and collaboration in the courts”they warned.

At this occurrence, they demand in particular the restoration of the Directorate of Registries, established as a General Directorate and the adoption, without delay, of the text of the law relating to the special status of clerks.
