Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi by 3 runs after a thrilling encounter in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and invited Multan Sultans to bat in the 27th match of PSL played at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The new opening pair of Rohail Nazir and Zeeshan Ashraf opened the innings and formed a partnership of 32 runs for the first wicket. Rohail, the captain of the Pakistan U-19 team who played his first match in the league, was caught behind the wickets after scoring 14 runs.

After that, captain Shaan Masood came to support Zeeshan and both players have established a partnership of more than runs till now, Zeeshan has completed his half century.

With the score reaching 92, Zeeshan returned to the pavilion after scoring 52 runs, but the real blow to Sultans came when Rahat Ali took the valuable wicket of Moeen Ali in just one ball to give his team their third victory.

Ravi Bopari also did not work for the team and after scoring only five runs, young Amir became the first wicket in the match.

Shaan Masood played an innings of 28 runs, but he also left the team in the middle and repaired the pavilion.

On this occasion, the pair of Shahid Afridi and Khushdil Shah came together on the wicket and both of them took the score to 134. Shahid Afridi became the sixth player to get out and scored 19 runs.

In the last over, Khushdil Shah hit two sixes while batting aggressively to help his team reach a total of 154 runs, he scored 30 runs.

Multan Sultans scored 154 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For Peshawar Zalmi, Rahat Ali took three wickets while Amir Khan, Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali took one wicket each.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz said that there are no foreign players in his team because all his foreign players have returned home due to the threat of corona virus.

Multan Sultans have also made several changes in their team and they are also without the services of returning players James Vince and Riley Russo.

In the first match played between the two teams this year, Multan Sultans defeated Peshawar Zalmi.
