The darkest point of my life was when I slapped Krisztina during a fight

“I went to England for the first time because I thought that if I didn’t return to earth, if I didn’t find my place, I would die very soon. I found myself lost and I had to find myself,” Ferenc Hujber told Hot magazine. The newspaper interviewed the actor, who celebrated his fiftieth birthday on September 9.

During the conversation, the actor also talked about the period in his life when fame got so much into his head that he had to somehow counterbalance it. “I played a leading role in the National, there was Something Between America and Friends.” My teacher called me little Imre Soós, from where to where? I tried to compensate by drinking a lot. I also went on stage drunk.”

Despite everything, not everyone was impressed with Hujber. The actor Garas Dezső in My Mother, Cleopatra. played the main role in his play, when Erzsi Máthé, who was awarded the title of Actor of the Nation, commented that Hujber’s play was not credible enough, “because he does not have that much life experience.” “It hit me so hard that he didn’t believe me in the first act, that a month later I returned the role and told Dezsó that I’m going to see the world, I’m not going to be an actor, but I’m going to learn what it’s like to live, because I’ve never worked before.”

This is how Hujber ended up in the United Kingdom, where, according to him, no one cared that he smoked weed. Under the influence of the drug, he pondered a lot about life and the world. At one point, however, the contemplation turned into madness, the actor felt that he had gone mad. “Because this drug does not induce calmness in people who are prone to it, but on the contrary: it revs up and makes you irritable.

My partner and I quarreled a lot, we both had this primal savagery. The darkest point in my life was when I slapped Krisztina during a fight. I got it back right away. But then I decided to stop this right away. That was the bottom from which I started to rise.”

Hujber has already told the public that he does not touch alcohol or weed, he concentrates on getting clean for 18 hours a day. “When I stopped, I hadn’t been drinking for a long time, so that wasn’t a problem, but the depression came. The grass takes you to the forest, you have no sense of responsibility, you don’t feel who and what you hurt. In the past twenty years, I have hurt a lot of people, and it has hit me many times over,” added Hujber, who made the decision to change when he raised his hand to his partner.

“How could I do that? I don’t want to be like that. I wanted to change.

Therefore, we agreed that I should come home and seek medical help. Fortunately, I was able to talk to the psychiatrist a lot, and since then people say that I have changed.

I still have that primal strength, ferocity, but also a measured calmness, you can’t get me out of my head like that,” added the actor, who started seeing a psychiatrist two years ago in May.

Since then, the actor has learned to be patient, to fight, to be present in his life and to let go of everything that needs to be done. “These are all included in the fifty years that I just buried. But I buried it in such a way that you don’t need marble, but a flower that blooms again and again – or an evergreen.”

Like Ferenc Hujber, other Hungarian celebrities do not hide the demons they fight every day. In the last three months, Gusztáv Molnár completely lost control, drinking one and a half to two liters of alcohol a day. The actor has now checked into a rehabilitation center again. And Zsolt Nagy said in an interview with Telex two years ago that there were years when he was “quite obsessed with drinking”, and for four years he has been trying to drink less or not drink at all.
