Notice issued on Nawaz Sharif’s security bail requests, response sought

Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approached the Islamabad High Court for protective bail in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references. A two-member bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb is hearing Nawaz Sharif’s security bail application.

Advocate Amjad Pervez advocate argued that when someone wants to surrender before the court, the court gives him an opportunity, it has also happened in the past that security bail was given to the accused to surrender.

Amjad Parvez Advocate said that Nawaz Sharif never misused the bail, Nawaz Sharif was abroad when the sentence was handed down.

The NAB prosecutor told the court that I am the prosecutor of this case, I have heard their arguments, if any accused wants to come, we have no objection.

On the NAB prosecutor’s statement, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb remarked that you have no objection to grant security, tomorrow you will ask that the decision be annulled, then you should ask the Chairman NAB to decide the appeal today. They do.

The NAB prosecutor said that he will take instructions and give arguments when the appeal is fixed.

The High Court issued a notice and sought a reply by tomorrow.

Earlier, Nawaz Sharif has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court requesting that protective bail be granted for the surrender, the cases he wants to face should be prevented from reaching the court.

Nawaz Sharif requested that the security bail application be fixed for hearing today and said that Nawaz Sharif will reach Islamabad by special flight on October 21, security bail should be granted to reach the court.

Attaullah Tarar filed a bail application as Mukhtar Khas (Special Attorney).

Apart from this, Nawaz Sharif filed an application for protective bail in the Toshakhana case, in which he requested to suspend the permanent warrant, saying that Nawaz Sharif wants to surrender before the court, his permanent warrant should be suspended till October 24. They should be given an opportunity to appear in the court and benefit from the facilities available.

After the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references, the court also issued a notice to NAB in the Tosha Khana reference and sought its response at 9 am tomorrow. Nawaz Sharif’s bail decision in the Tosha Khana reference will also be decided tomorrow.

There will be an interesting situation in the Islamabad High Court tomorrow as the bails of both Nawaz Sharif and Chairman PTI in the NAB cases are set tomorrow. The court has issued a notice to NAB and sought its response on the bail application of Chairman PTI in the Al-Qadir Trust and Tosha Khana case. Chairman PTI’s accountability court had dismissed bail for non-compliance.

Chairman PTI has filed petitions against the accountability court’s decision, while Nawaz Sharif’s hearing on security bail in Al-Azizia and Avonfield will also be held tomorrow. The court issued a notice to NAB today and called for arguments tomorrow.
