Asunción, IP Agency.- The so-called MOPC No. 98/2024 has already been published on the Public Procurement portal for the hiring of inspection companies for the works that will be executed as part of Phase B of the Coastal Defense of Pilar, capital of the department of Ñeembucú .
This is the tender with ID No. 454,897, whose date for submitting offers is set for Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at the Single Entry Table of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC). ).
The contract for the inspection will be valid for 27 months and will extend until fiscal years 2025, 2026 and 2027, subject to budget availability, foreseeing an investment of around G. 16,290,611,084.
The works to be inspected in Phase B of the Pilar Coastal Defense consist of the construction of a comprehensive storm sewage and sewage system and a wastewater treatment plant.
Let us remember that the first phase included the construction of reservoir systems, pumping and special works to control the flow of the San Lorenzo and Ñeembucú streams.
Scope of services
The consulting firm that is awarded in this call must carry out the review of the final engineering design and supervise the correct implementation of the works that will be carried out in three periods: the mobilization and review of the design, the inspection of the pluvial and sewage works, and finally a supervision period between the provisional and final reception of the works.
The need for this new infrastructure arises from Pilar’s particular vulnerability to flooding, both due to the flooding of the Paraguay River and the accumulation of rainwater. Currently, the city has limited sewer network coverage, and the majority of the population depends on individual wastewater disposal systems, which represents a significant health risk during floods.
About the works
Regarding the construction firms for the execution of these second stage works, the MOPC plans to receive their offers next Wednesday, October 9, at 10:00 a.m.
