Vienna (OTS) –

On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping 250 hostages in the Gaza Strip. It is the worst massacre of Jews since the Shoah. Presented by Susanne Höggerl and Tobias Pötzelsberger, a 60-minute “ZIB Special” on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. on ORF2 and on ORF ON will shed light on the background to the terrorist attack, Israel’s bitter counterattack in the Gaza Strip, and the escalation of the conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon and the impending war between Israel and Iran.

“ZIB Spezial” offers live connections to correspondents in Israel, Lebanon, Iran and the USA. The current situation is analyzed in studio discussions. The causes of the Middle East conflict are examined and the effects of the escalating spiral of violence on coexistence in Europe and especially in Austria are discussed.
