On October 9, RF-Sisu together with Vimmerby municipality organizes something called “Association Forum”. The idea is that the forum will be a good dialogue about local association life between representatives of the municipality’s non-profit associations and politicians in the municipality.
– This is a new concept that we are testing in Vimmerby, which has had good effects in other municipalities in Småland. The idea of an association forum is to gather associations, civil servants and politicians for a common dialogue around a specific area, says Mirja Holgersson, recreation coordinator at the municipality.
In Vimmerby, the theme will be conditions for physical activity in the municipality. Representatives from RF-Sisu and the municipality, together with associations and politicians, will be able to discuss various issues surrounding the subject.
– It can be about what access to sports facilities and hall times looks like, challenges experienced by citizens and associations to what the outdoor environment looks like to encourage physical activity from a public health perspective. The subject is of great importance as we see declining trends regarding how much we move.
Karin Book, lecturer in sports science at Malmö University, is a guest at the meeting and will lecture on how to identify and create opportunities and conditions for physical activity together.
– Karin will be there throughout the evening to share her experiences and knowledge, says Mirja Holgersson.
