On the occasion of his 50th birthday, actor Ferenc Hujber spoke with unvarnished honesty about his past, present and struggles. The darkest period of his life was also discussed, as well as the fact that he turned to a psychiatrist for help.
Ferenc Hujber turned 50, on this occasion he gave an interview to hot! magazine.
A Bors according to his report, the actor talked about the following, among other things:
- His birthday was spent alone with his partner, they talked all day, and in the evening they ate princely steaks in a separate room of a restaurant.
- The darkest point in his life was when he slapped his partner, Krisztina, during an argument. He got it back right away, but then he decided to stop doing it right away. This was the low point from which he began to rise. This happened when he went to England, where he smoked weed, but no one there was interested. “We sat at home, I meditated, I saved the world, and I went crazy there. Because this drug does not induce calmness in people who are prone to it, but on the contrary: it revs up and makes you irritable. My partner and I argued a lot, we both had this primal savagery.”
- When he stopped, he had not been drinking for a long time, but then depression came. As he said: “The grass takes you to the forest, you have no sense of responsibility, you don’t feel who and what you hurt.” He had hurt a lot of people in the last twenty years, and it took a toll on him many times over. When he came home, he immediately started apologizing to these people and wanted to change.
- When he got home, he asked for medical help, he was able to talk a lot with a psychiatrist, and since then people say that he has changed. It still has that primal strength, wildness, but also a measured calmness; they can’t get him off the hook like that anymore.
- Previously, he decided to leave Hungary because he felt at the peak of his career that he had already achieved a lot of things that an actor can achieve, but in the process he lost himself, so he needed a bigger break. “I tried to compensate by drinking a lot. I also went on stage drunk,” he said.
- He first went to England because he felt that if he didn’t return to earth, if he didn’t find his place, he would die very soon. He found himself lost and having to find himself.
- Since returning to Hungary, he has rebuilt everything he had completely destroyed before, and he is very proud of these 50 years. Now he has new plans, he has several projects running today, and he is appearing again in more and more places. The new path started with the psychiatrist, two years ago, in May. Now they say that he is again in more and more places, he knows what he is doing until next October. Two years ago, the calendar was empty.
As we wrote, Ferenc Hujber and his wife Krisztina Szőke, who is 18 years younger, will also test their relationship in the brand new season of Nyerő Páros, which will be shown on RTL from October 14.
The actor also talked about back in August that he used to drink a lot of coffee, energy drinks and cola. According to him, that is why many people believed that he did not reject drugs. The star of Something America said that he used to play the madman directly, which worked out very well, because the audience believed him.
