In Patras, the curtain fell on the pre-election campaign for the President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis.
“We are no longer a party of only the elderly, which our opponents predicted would “disappear”. We are a party of all generations of our country. A party that consistently embraces the anxieties of all Greeks. Let’s not devalue the important things we have achieved in the last two and a half years, but let’s build even more on the solid foundations of these years to become the strong government alternative, which will defeat the New Democracy in the next national elections” he gave the stamp of his candidacy.
Emphasize tomorrow’s stake.
“We must continue the same path unwaveringly. And that will be judged tomorrow. Either we will continue on the same path that regenerates the democratic faction or we will call into question all the steps that brought us today protagonists at the center of the political developments of the country” noted the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.
Mr. Androulakis made special mention of the unifying climate that prevailed, contrasting it with the internal unrest in SYRIZA and New Democracy.
“PASOK is here, united, strong. He celebrated his 50 years with all the presidents and all his executives. We are more united than both New Democracy and SYRIZA. We celebrated 50 years of PASOK with Kostas Simitis, George Papandreou and Evangelos Venizelos, all together. What happened to New Democracy? We carry out internal procedures with seriousness, political ethics, responsibility, without objections. What is happening to SYRIZA?”
“We know how to win the Right and we proved it. Who is it that brought defeats to Mr. Mitsotakis with his initiatives? Mr. Tsipras? Mr. Kasselakis? Or maybe his columnist, Mr. Velopoulos? Once in the summer of 2022, going to the Areopagus, within a few days half of the Maximos Palace resigned due to the parastatal of wiretapping. A few months ago, we again, submitting a motion of no confidence – which some within PASOK underestimated, saying that it would rally New Democracy -. Other opposition parties followed us and the next day two associates of the Prime Minister, who sent them to negotiate with the interests, resigned again. All our initiatives were institutional and always in the foreground. Never in the background, that’s why they brought social and institutional results” he said concluding his speech.
