Juan Carlos: New scandal for the former king – The army filmed his extramarital affairs – The palace is in shock

The images were allegedly taken at Ray’s home on June 22, 1994, during a private moment that has now sparked widespread controversy. These photos, sold to the press by Rey’s son Angel Christo, have reignited debate about the former monarch’s turbulent personal life and the various scandals that have dogged him for decades.

Rae expressed her shock and sadness at the situation, stating: “I’m at a loss for words. These photos are mine. they belong to my private life. I will use the justice system to protect my privacy”, as reported by the French media “Gala fr”.

In a public statement, Rey made it clear that Juan Carlos did not take the photos in question, expressing disbelief that her son would exploit their private moments for financial gain.

The former king, however, has chosen to remain silent in the face of renewed scrutiny over his past, particularly as these images have long been rumored to exist in major Spanish media offices but have never been published. The re-emergence of these photos underlines the public’s continued desire to deal with the former monarch’s personal scandals, according to Spanish newspaper “la Sexta”.

Juan Carlos’ reign was marked by many scandals that eventually led to his abdication in 2014 in favor of his son Felipe VI. His tenure included infamous incidents such as his alleged infidelities and lifestyle excesses, notably the controversial 2012 safari trip to Botswana, which reportedly cost around €30,000 at a time of significant economic hardship in Spain.

This trip drew public ire, further tarnishing his image, and adding to the bad image were allegations of elephant poaching that came to light amid widespread criticism of his lavish spending.

The latest revelations involving Rey only add to the already significant controversies surrounding Juan Carlos, painting a picture of a king whose personal life has long been scrutinized. Juan Carlos and Rey reportedly began their secret romance after meeting at a party thrown by former Spanish Prime Minister Adolfo Suarez in 1975, according to the same source.

Their relationship reportedly lasted almost two decades, characterized by meticulously arranged meetings facilitated by Spain’s National Center for Information (CNI) in rented houses that ensured the couple’s privacy.

Their relationship ended in 1994 when Ray allegedly threatened to reveal details of their relationship, including recordings. Reports indicate that the CNI intervened, using secret funds to pay Rey millions to ensure her silence about their relationship, “La Sexta” added.

Alberto Sainz, former director of the CNI, confirmed that these payments were stopped under then-Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, who deemed the practice unsustainable. However, Rey has consistently denied receiving money in exchange for her silence, complicating the narrative around their relationship.

Rey’s romantic history extends beyond her relationship with the former king. In the 1970s, she was famously linked to French actor Alain Delon, and her past includes several high-profile relationships with notables such as soccer star Carles Rexach and matador Paquirri.

The former king was forced to abdicate in 2014 amid a cloud of scandal.

He is also embroiled in a legal battle with a former lover, who claims he ordered Spanish spies to break into her home as part of a campaign of harassment.

Despite these controversies, with all inquiries now over or dismissed, Juan Carlos reportedly believes that only one obstacle stands between him and a return to Spain.

According to Spanish media, the “honorary king” is convinced that the current Socialist-led government is preventing his return to his homeland. Should the conservative People’s Party (PP) win the upcoming elections, Juan Carlos is reportedly planning to pack up his Abu Dhabi residence and return to Zarzuela Palace.

Although many older Spaniards remember Juan Carlos’ reign fondly, not all are eager to see the former king return. His son, King Felipe VI, has worked hard to distance himself from the scandals of his predecessor, renouncing his inheritance and seeing his father only once since he went into exile.
