Honda Racing Indonesia (HRI) RACER Avila Bahar climbed the podium twice in round 4 of the Indonesia Sentul Series of Motorsport (ISSOM) which took place at the Sentul Circuit, Bogor Regency, Sunday (29/9).
Avila managed to finish in first place in the 1200 ITCR class, while in the 1500 ITCR class he finished in third place.
“Since free practice we can see that our pace is good, because the car has just been refreshed so it’s even faster, the power too, so indeed the Honda Brio is still the best in its class. The Brio handles better and better, it is indeed the fastest car in its class because we feel “like a grand slam from Thursday’s free practice to qualifying until Sunday’s top race, I was the best in that class and Andri was second, even up to the top race too,” said Avila in his statement, Monday (30/9).

“In the 1500 ITCR master class, I won the third podium position because the Honda City Hatchback car still had a few problems, but I was also grateful for the third position. Hopefully improvements can be found in the front series,” he added.
Even though Avila’s points in the 1200 ITCR class are very far ahead, he chose not to be arrogant when asked about the national championship.
“Perhaps it is safest to win the national championship for drivers and teams in the next series (fifth series) because there are still 2 more series after this,” he said.

Meanwhile, Andri, who was in second place, admitted that he was proud to be in a row with Avila in positions 1-2.
“My position was to deliberately keep Avila safe in the leading position. However, it turned out that from the half-way point of the race there was no need to be extra tight because the two opposing drivers were already very far behind. It was clear that the Honda Brio was much faster than the opposing car,” said Andri.
Just like Avila and Andri who were successful on the championship podium in both the 1200 and 1500 masters classes (Avila was third on the podium), senior racer Alvin Bahar was no less brilliant in the ITCR 3600 National Championship class. Alvin won first place so that his 12th national championship title was certain. in hand at the ISSOM final series on December 1. (Z-6)
