Tags and shares, WhatsApp changes the “status”: all the news – il Giornale

More news coming soon WhatsAppconstantly evolving to make itself more and more attractive to the audience of users. As announced last September, when the function had already been found in a beta for Android, the instant messaging platform will also allow you to tag other users and put “likes”. In short, it will become increasingly social, following the model of Instagram Stories – the same group’s platform -.

In the case of WhatsApp, you can tag a maximum of five users at a time, and put like to the status updates of the various profiles of our friends.

Update user status

In short, not only customizable filters and backgrounds for video calls, but even more interactions among users. In fact, members of the platform can already share both temporary photos and videos (they disappear after 24 hours), which are seen by those whose number is saved in their contact book.

With the new feature, users will be able to share contents, taking care to tag a maximum of five people in them, who will be able to interact with the status and, if desired, also republish it on their profile. WhatsApp will also give the possibility to tag a specific user without having to make their name visible. Once again, therefore, we aim to keep privacy intact.

As if this wasn’t enough, WhatsApp will also give users the ability to leave likes on their statuses. A quick action that allows you to show appreciation for a specific status update, and which is very reminiscent of what happens on social media Instagram.

When will the feature arrive

As we said, these two functions were found in

a September beta and, after the trial period, they are ready to land on devices all over the globe. Apparently the update should be available to everyone starting in the next few hours.
