Books – Muhammad Al-Badri:
Dr. Islam Assaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Matrouh, referred employees for investigation and wrote a report after observing violations inside the Maternity and Reproductive Health Hospital during a surprise tour.
The Undersecretary directed the issuance of a report of violation of occupational safety and health requirements after a “Cattle” electric beverage liquid kettle was found inside the hospital laboratory, which exposes the facility to danger.
The Undersecretary referred the two nursing supervisors in the internal department to investigation, and decided to stop disbursing the monthly supervision incentive, due to their failure to follow up on important notes recorded in patient records and failure to take the necessary corrective measures.
The decision came after reviewing patient records, diagnoses and prescribed treatments, in addition to discussion with treating doctors to ensure that scientific, technical and administrative procedures were fully implemented, especially inside the operating room.
The tour also included a review of the hospital’s warehouse operations, where some items were inventoried and compared with warehouse records, which resulted in referring those responsible for not conducting the annual inventory and quarterly reconciliations to investigation.
The blood bank was also inspected, where blood bags were checked and matched with records to ensure that they had not been altered and dispensed for cases inside the hospital. Store books found in violation of legal preservation procedures were seized.
The Undersecretary met with Dr. Ahmed Al-Maraghi, a consultant in obstetrics and gynecology, to present proposals for new services in Siwa Maternity Hospital. The Undersecretary welcomed these ideas and issued assignments to the General Administration of Therapeutic Medicine to follow up on their implementation.
Dr. Hazem Mubasher, Undersecretary of the Matrouh Health Directorate, participated in the tour, accompanied by a large committee from the Directorate, with a surprise visit to the Obstetrics and Reproductive Health Hospital.
