The non-governmental organization (NGO) Justicia, Encuentro y Perdón denounced that seven teenagers detained in the post-election protests after July 28 will be tried without the possibility of obtaining any procedural benefit.

The group of minors was presented at a preliminary hearing in the state of Carabobo, where they were accused of the crimes of terrorism and incitement to hatred. Subsequently, they ordered his trial.

The NGO rejected, through a message on its X account, “the indolence” with which these teenagers have been accused.

“They have been deprived of their freedom for two months and now they are denied the possibility of returning to their families and continuing with their studies and sports activities,” said Justicia, Encuentro y Paz.

The organization, which accompanies six of the seven adolescents, urged the judicial authorities to review these cases so that the guarantees of due process and respect for their human rights are enforced.

“It is absolutely condemnable that young people who have not committed any crime are criminalized, causing serious injuries to their present and future. We ask for his full and immediate freedom,” the NGO said.

Opposition leader María Corina Machado condemned the trial of the group of seven teenagers through her X account.

“These seven boys are our children, our reason for fighting. What they have done to them, with the aim of terrorizing all young people and their parents, is the greatest reason we have as a society to intensify our fight. It must be denounced and hard.
