Latino voters, target of the month in the US

WASHINGTON (EFE).— The campaign team of the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, announced yesterday that it will focus on mobilizing Latino voters during Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins this Sunday.

The campaign will have a presence in sporting events such as boxing and baseball, and a historic investment of $3 million will also be made in advertisements in Spanish-language media, especially on radio, Kamala’s team indicated in a statement.

Hispanic Heritage Month, which recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanics in the history and culture of the United States, is celebrated each year from September 15 to October 15. This year takes on special importance due to the proximity of the November 5 elections.

“Hispanic Heritage Month is an important time to celebrate the richness and diversity of Latino communities across the country,” Julie Chávez Rodríguez, Kamala Harris’ campaign manager, said in a statement.

“It represents a crucial moment for us to continue connecting with Latino voters about what is at stake in this election, the importance of their vote and the need to defeat Trump (…),” he added.
