Birkenstock’s ‘Sabot Boston’ returns for autumn/winter 24 in three shades

From its debut in the late ’70s to today, the success of the ‘Boston’ suede mule by BIRKENSTOCK it has not simply remained unchanged, but has become global. The simplicity and at the same time the refinement of a suede slip-on sabot, together with the comfort of an insole made entirely of cork and latex, has made it a point of reference in the international streetwear scene, so much so that it is the protagonist of prestigious collaborations with brands of the caliber of Stüssy, Tekla e Rick Owens.

For the autumn/winter 24 collection the Boston mule – born from an idea by Karl Birkenstock and whose first name was ‘Kork-Clog’ – evolution is the focal point of the innovations introduced, and this season color is the protagonist, with three distinctive nuances that make this shoe increasingly unique and characterizing every look. Available in black, taupe and bright faded purple, today more than ever the Boston has become a unisex choice for the most demanding consumers around the world.

This is why the choice of the new advertising campaign fell on a streetwear-inspired atmosphere, created by the photographer Gabriel Dugué on the streets of Paris; the lookbook tells in images the absolute versatility of the mule, which with its closed upper at the front pairs perfectly with both formal looks and a more casual wardrobe.

The success of this shoe, given above all by the unparalleled BIRKENSTOCK insole which with innovative materials and processes made in Germany allows everyone to walk as easily as possible, has also inspired new variants of sabots and iconic models, including the Tokio and the Naples .
