Spying equipment found in toilet after Netanyahu leaves: Boris Johnson

The Israeli embassy in London has been contacted for comment on the matter.

At one point in the book, Boris Johnson likens his chief adviser Dominic Cummings, who later became his staunch critic, to a ‘killer robot’ who was working against him while in Ten Downing Street.

He said: ‘I felt like the crew of the alien spaceship Nostromo when they discover that their companion Ash is a killer robot on a completely different mission.’

Boris Johnson will be quizzed about the revelations in his memoir during an event to be broadcast on ITV on Friday evening.

The development comes at a time when the BBC had to cancel an interview with him after presenter Laura Queensberg accidentally sent her briefing notes to the former prime minister.

The interview was due to be broadcast on BBC One at 7.30pm and will now be replaced by an episode of the soap opera EastEnders.

On Friday, an episode of Garden Rescue will be aired on the channel at 7.30 pm, when the interview was scheduled to be re-aired.

In a message on social media website X, Queensberg said: ‘When I was preparing to interview Boris Johnson yesterday I accidentally sent him my briefing notes which were meant to be sent to my team.

‘This clearly means that it is not right to interview. It’s useless to call it anything other than disappointing and embarrassing, because there are so many important questions to be asked.

‘But despite the embarrassment, telling the truth is the best policy. See you on Sunday.’
