Family farming fairs raised more than G. 55,530 million in less than a year

Asunción, IP Agency.- The family farming fairs have already raised more than G. 55,530 million and benefited 6,040 families from August of last year to June of this year, highlighted the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG).

The figure is five times more than what was observed during the previous government’s period.

4,388 events have already been held and more than 663 organizations were counted involved. Through direct sales without intermediaries of products from the family farm, options were offered directly from the producer’s farm to the consumer’s table.

Carolin Leguizamón, MAG fair coordinator, highlighted that producers received training for fairs, both in taxation and other technical actions until completing the final circuit of the products.

He expressed that more family farming fairs are coming in the main departmental capitals, in Pedro Juan Caballero, the Paraguayan Chaco, Caazapá, Pilar, among others. “From now on, the strong season arrives in terms of fairs because you have to know that this type of venture is carried out nationwide 3 to 5 times a week,” he pointed out.
