The English firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published the Ranking of Universities in Latin America and the Caribbean 2025, which includes five Venezuelan universities. According to this list, the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) was positioned as the first in the country.

In addition to positioning itself as the number 1 university in the country, the UCV ranked 29th among universities in South America and 34th in Latin America.

The vice-rectorate of the UCV He specified on his Instagram account that the studio rose five positions in Latin America and four in South America, compared to the list presented in 2023 last year.

“This confirms the investigative tradition of the House that overcomes the Shadow at a national and international level, as well as a high reputation among academics and employers,” he highlighted in his publication.

What other Venezuelan universities are included?

In addition to the UCV, the other universities that appear in this ranking were the following:

-Simón Bolívar University (USB): ranked second in Venezuela and 41st and 51st in South America and Latin America, respectively.

-Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB): came in third place in Venezuela and ranked 58 and 72 in South America and Latin America, respectively.

-Universidad de Los Andes (ULA): ranked fourth in Venezuela and ranked 64th and 81st in South America and Latin America, respectively.

-Universidad del Zulia (LUZ): ranked fifth in Venezuela and 117th and 145th in South America and Latin America, respectively.

What aspects does the Ranking of Universities in Latin America and the Caribbean 2025 evaluate?

The vice-rector of the UCV indicated that for this list, the QS company evaluated several aspects of Latin American universities, including the following:

-Number of professors with doctorates

-Employability of university graduates

-The quality of the research networks consolidated by teachers with their peers in other study houses around the world

However, the UCV clarified that this list scores some aspects different from the world ranking. In the international classification, the UCV occupies position 691 out of 700 universities, according to the Web page of QS.
