“We, the families of the Tempe victims, are against the terms of public attendance at the Concert in Kallimarmaro on 11/10/24. We believe that raising public awareness in our fight for justice does not have a ticket. We don’t need anyone’s financial support. The moral support of the Greek society is enough for us”, 26 victims’ families state in their statement.
Ms. Alma Lata, who lost her 21-year-old daughter Claudia in the accident, made a dramatic appeal through Live News on Mega to unite the families of the victims and moved with her on-air confession.
“How much I would like to announce to you today that my daughter’s killers are in prison. That’s all I wanted and want to hear every day and every moment that my daughter’s killers are not in jail and out there. Tempi have no color, the color of my heart, like that of all manas, is black. My Maria (Mrs. Karystianou), let’s lower the tone, I know how much you are in pain, just like me. I know how much Mr. Plakias is in pain, how much women and mothers are in pain for the loss of their child…
Everything done by us and Mr. Plakias is well-intentioned. Maria look up, our kids are hanging out up there. You will see that children are sad these days and cry. They are not proud of mothers who fight with each other. We must become a fist to accomplish everything. The road to justice is too long, too unbearable. They want to drive us crazy, they will never succeed. We will win and we will put them in jail. No one is above the law. “No one should feel unsafe in 2024 and ride these death trains,” Claudia’s mother burst out.
“This should be the topic of the day, not arguing with each other. We are one family, one fist. We will manage the finances, but only if the murderers go to jail. I live in Larissa and I pass by the house of the station master, who is sitting watching TV and drinking coffee. I have lost my child, how do I feel? Let these concern us. My Maria, come let’s lower the tone. We are one family and no one will separate us. I lost my daughter and I want justice. That’s all I’m interested in.”
