Almost 90 dead in Gaza in the last day as Israel intensifies its attacks

At least 90 people died in the Gaza Strip in the last few hours after Israel intensified its attacks in the enclave coinciding with the launch of almost 200 missiles from Iran, sources from the Gaza Ministry of Health told EFE.

According to ministry data, some 34 people were killed in the northern Strip after Israeli forces attacked a school and an orphanage.

In the center of the enclave, 18 people died, including three minors and four women, after a group of people tried to cross the Netzarim corridor, an artificial road built by Israeli forces to divide the Strip in half, and were hit. by artillery.

And in the towns of Khan Younis and Rafah, in the south, hospitals received 37 bodies after a new Israeli incursion into the southeast of the territory.

According to Palestinian sources in the enclave, the intensity of the attacks is related to the Iranian offensive, which put Israeli forces on alert, fearful that the Palestinian population would take advantage of the situation to cross the borders.

The Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas, confirmed in its daily report that at least 51 people were killed in the Israeli attacks on Tuesday, and that another 51 bodies arrived at hospitals in southern Gaza since this morning following the Israeli incursion into the southeast. by Jan Yunis.

According to the Qatari network Al Jazeera, the Israeli incursion, which lasted hours, was supported by artillery fire, and several residential buildings were destroyed as people took refuge inside.

Israel confirmed last night that it had attacked a group of people who approached the troops in the center of the enclave (where the Netzarim corridor is located), but did not give numbers of victims and simply said that no soldiers were injured.

He also confirmed having attacked several schools in recent hours, which Israeli forces said were used by Hamas militants to plan and carry out attacks against troops.

Since the war began almost a year ago, more than 41,680 people have been killed and another 96,600 wounded in the devastated Palestinian enclave, according to the latest figures from health authorities.
