Large companies and listed companies are obliged to achieve this goal by July 2026. If the qualifications are the same, preference will be given to the applicant of the underrepresented gender.
The Ministry of Social Security and Labor emphasized that this regulation serves to implement an EU directive that is intended to ensure a balanced gender distribution on company boards.
In Lithuania there are around 30 listed companies and around 540 other large companies, including public services, LRT knows.
