The colorful audience in the aura: “Girl in Red” attracted everyone to watch, and it was delivered!

Like many others, I wanted to spend my Sunday night at the sold-out Gasometer to finally see The Girl in Red live, and I was already imagining the worst-case scenario – like, there would be long lines of teams because everyone will arrive at the same time. But fortunately it wasn’t that wild. What was even more wild was that the people present were very obedient and lined up in two rows to buy things. Normally there would be more chaos there!

I hurried into the already packed hall, of course because I wanted to see the support group.give her snow“Reminds me. I didn’t know what to expect and what I was greeted with was wonderful indie rock and a lot of 90’s grunge vibe. Most of the time there wasn’t much going on on stage, a few little moves, some nervous tones, giving The songs bring a bit of power and tension – and then, even in one song, the hair is thrown in the air! Other than that, it’s mostly just a bunch of good songs with a bit of “I want to be one day” “Rock star” feeling. You can dream!

Before the concert “girl in redAs the show began, the crowd in attendance took turns enjoying background songs by Sabrina Carpenter and Chappelle Rowan. When “Hot to Go” came on, people just went crazy, singing loudly and performing dances to it. It was a little crazy, but also a great indication of the audience that was there that night. Speaking of indicators: I was also a little shocked by how many people dressed up that night: many showed up in oversized shirts and ties, and I was immediately reminded of Carnival 2004, when I wore the same outfit (I dressed as Avril Lavigne), but Go to a carnival party instead of a concert. Ha ha.

However- “girl in red“A little late on stage, but full of energy! But appearances can be deceiving: after just two shows, she announced that she had been bedridden in recent days (but she couldn’t cancel the concert, she’s not Taylor Swift) , so it takes a lot of support from the audience. I don’t really know if I’m ready for the next Gen Z Scream concert, but well, I’ll have to get through it, either way. It’s loud, or the audience isn’t that loud and knows the lyrics, either way, I can understand the singing, which is already an achievement for me!

Despite announcing her illness, she jumped around the stage like a wild man – she rarely allowed herself a break. It’s a huge show of kindness to the audience, who always reward every performance that rushes across the stage with a cheer. In addition to walking and singing, talking is also a big part of the show. Marie Ulven Ringheim, the Norwegian artist’s real name, talks a lot about herself, about Vienna and her time there (she once lived here for a month), about queerness And about the pretense of the audience, and then say: the shirt is much more comfortable.

What I love about this show is that not only does she sizzle from corner to corner, but every now and then she stops at a microphone stand to play guitar and sing at the same time, and I also found her performance to be very interesting to the piano. Made a nice change. I found the visuals in the background less than impressive – but not everything can be perfect!

In the end I missed something: the show was very energetic and played all my favorite songs (“Bad Idea!”, “We Fall in Love in October”, “Serotonin” and “Too Many”), but Somehow I missed the final climax, the confetti moment so to speak. Maybe it was those songs that would trigger the cut? The setlist was shortened due to Morbid’s presence. Anyway, the concert ended with “I Want to Be Your Girlfriend” and a crowd shower by Mary herself. It’s really great, but I can’t shake the feeling that something is missing. However; that means I have to go to the next concert to see how the girl in red concert ends perfectly!
