The ending of the new Until Dawn remake hints at part two

The recent period has witnessed leaks of the Until Dawn remake hinting at work on a second part of the interactive horror game that achieved great success on PS4. The Until Dawn remake contains many of the changes that were previously announced, and now some of the most important changes have also been revealed through… These leaks.

Warning: The following information contains spoilers for the original game and the remake.

Reddit user crawplays shared the post-endgame scenes, which add new endings and potential suspense for a sequel. Until Dawn is a horror game where all eight main characters can live, die, or anything in between, and these two scenes bring the “good” ending for Josh and Sam in particular.

Josh’s ending is the younger of the two and clears up some of the mystery surrounding his ending in the original Until Dawn. While his story may have had the most tragic ending, with even his positive outcome having him taken in by his sister who turned into a murderous monster, the remake puts a more optimistic spin on things.

A cutscene shows Josh, played by Rami Malek, surviving a Wendigo encounter while the voice of Dr. Hale, a therapist who speaks to him and the player between each chapter, speaks of Josh finally finding redemption, However, some players believe that the larger of the two scenes sets the stage for a sequel, the first of which not only takes place on the single night in which the rest of Until Dawn takes place, but also shows Sam, played by Hayden Panettiere, years later.

Sam wakes up at dawn in her apartment in Los Angeles, with medicine and a book about mythology on the bedside table. She opens her phone and spots of blood appear on the screen. She opens her palm and sees blood dripping from an ugly scar on her arm that doesn’t look quite real. After knocking on the door and wiping her arm, a voice is heard behind her whispering, “Sam,” before the scene turns black.

Considering that not all of Supermassive Games’ subsequent projects have achieved the same success as Until Dawn, it seems that the studio is planning to work on a sequel soon.
