Meeting between Meloni and Brad Smith: Microsoft invests in Italy for AI

The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, met Brad Smith, President of Microsoft, yesterday at Palazzo Chigito discuss the new investment that the technological giant will make in Italy. This project aims to strengthen data centers in the area, responding to the growing demand for services related toartificial intelligence. President Meloni expressed her satisfaction with the initiative, underlining the importance of strengthening the country’s computational capabilitiestaking advantage of Italian excellence in higher education and research.

Microsoft’s investment will help consolidate Italy’s role as a digital hub in the Mediterraneanin line with the priorities of Mattei Plan for Africa and the G7 initiative “Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment” (PGII).
