Vienna (OTS) –

Haimo Primas has been appointed CEO of Holcim (Austria) GmbH as of October 1st and also leads Holcim Cement CE Holding GmbH. He has consistently advanced these areas and played a pivotal role in the implementation of the decarbonization strategy.

As the plant manager, he and his team transformed the Holcim cement plant in Retznei into a leading international production facility for CO2-reduced cement with an emphasis on the circular economy. Holcim is central to the transformation of the construction industry.

Balancing sustainability with the built environment is at the heart of our corporate strategy. In Austria and the Central Europe region, our cement plants lead the industry. Haimo Primas is thus continuing the transformation initiated by Berthold Kren, who will now face new challenges outside the Holcim Group. “We would like to express our gratitude to Berthold Kren for his long-standing dedication to the green transformation and the corresponding alignment of our facilities in Austria and the Central Europe region,” Primas remarked.

The 53-year-old native of Styria, Haimo Primas, studied business administration at Karl Franzens University in Graz. He is in a relationship and has an adult daughter. He is strongly committed to ensuring equal opportunities across all areas of business and society.
