Wallonia: a pact on administrative simplification for early 2025

Soon, “less paperwork in Wallonia?” A pact for administrative simplification should see the light of day by the first quarter of 2025.

A task force dedicated to simplification administrative will be launched this month in Wallonia with the aim of achieving, in the first quarter of 2025, a “pact for a shock of administrative simplification”, announced the Walloon government meeting in full this Thursday morning in Namur.

“To succeed in this challenge, we need a strong commitment from the entire executive and a structured, transversal and measurable strategy,” explained the regional minister-president, Adrien Dolimont, during a press conference.

“We want less paperwork, less bureaucracy and more common sense, in order to improve the daily lives of citizens and the competitiveness of businesses”, continued the regional minister in charge of Administrative Simplification, Jacqueline Galant.


Users will only have to communicate their data once, with the information then circulating between the different administrations.

Based on the will of all parties – citizens, government and administration – this pact will be structured around four guiding principles:

  • user experience as a foundation;
  • the digitization procedures while maintaining physical counters;
  • the generalization of principle of trust towards the user;
  • le ‘only once’.

According to this last point, users will only have to communicate their data oncethe information then circulating between the different administrations.

Furthermore, continuous monitoring is planned, with meetings scheduled at least twice a year to take stock of the government’s progress in this area.
