He added in an interview with a Novosti reporter: “In 2024, Israel, Poland, and Denmark entered the list of importers of fishery products from the Russian Far East, and shipments of squid, salmon, herring, and pollack fillets were sent to Israel, salmon to Poland, and cod to Denmark.”
According to him, seafood products were previously supplied to these countries, but there were no shipments for the same period in 2023.
In total, according to Rosselkhoznadzor data, from the beginning of the year until the beginning of October, 15.7 thousand shipments of fish and seafood with a total weight of 1.03 million tons were registered for export from the Primorsky Territory and the Sakhalin Oblast. These shipments were sent to 19 countries.
The most popular products among importers are Far Eastern pollock, cod and live crabs.
Since the beginning of 2024, China has occupied the first place among importers of Russian fishery products – 713.9 thousand tons. 281.6 thousand tons of fish and seafood were supplied to the Republic of Korea, 13.8 thousand tons to Japan, 9.4 thousand tons to Nigeria, and 4 thousand tons to Thailand.
The source said: “Compared to the corresponding period last year, there is an increase in exports of fishery products to Germany, Nigeria, Togo and Côte d’Ivoire. Salted caviar, frozen salmon and chopped pollock were supplied to Germany this year with almost 3,000 tons shipped to this country in the past – 1,078 tons, an almost three-fold increase.”
