“On this sunny day, I returned to my starting point – Mayuanling Primary School with a grateful heart. I am Zhang Yayi, a synchronized swimmer who walked out from here, and one of you.”

On the morning of September 30, the sun and breeze were just right. Mayuanling Primary School in Kaifu District, Changsha welcomed a special alumnus – she is the “Proud of Mayan Xiao”. She is Zhang Yayi, the Paris Olympic synchronized swimming champion. This is the scene of the “Four Advances” activities of the Sports Hunan Army, where youth and dreams collide.

“One person travels fast, and everyone travels far. Generations of Chinese flower tourists have never given up, from catching up to leading. It is precisely because we are in such an excellent team that we have finally created each of our ‘waves’.” Zhang Yayi told the school Brothers and sisters, only by supporting each other and achieving each other in the team can everyone’s efforts be perfectly presented.

On the same day, Zhang Yayi was hired as the school’s “off-campus sports counselor” and participated in fun projects such as high-fives and long ropes with her classmates. She also patiently guided the physical training of the school’s basketball team members. “Everyone wants to show their best side to everyone, and so do I!” student Li Wenhao said happily. As a member of the school basketball team, he will also work hard to compete for honors for the team like senior sister Yayi.

Tan Xiaodong, Party branch secretary and principal of Mayuanling Primary School, said that the school has always paid attention to Yayi’s growth and is extremely proud of every success she achieves. “The entry of the Sports Hunan Army into Mayuanling Primary School is a precious gift for the children on their growth path. I hope the children will follow the example of the champion, have dreams in their hearts, pursue their dreams bravely, and strive to be the champions of their own lives.”

It is understood that the Kaifu District Education Bureau has actively tried and explored in recent years to allow youth sports clubs and other social forces to participate in campus sports, gradually forming a three-combination model of “sports + education + society” to vigorously promote the innovative development of youth sports work in the district , hatched many sports projects on campus, and together with traditional sports project schools and reserve talent base schools, formed a new development situation of school sports characteristics of “one school, one product” and “one school, multiple products”.

This year is the fourth year of the Sports Hunan Army’s “Four Advances” campaign. On September 23, the Sports Hunan Army entered Hunan No. 1 Normal University. Olympic athletes Luo Shifang, Zhang Boheng, and Pang Qianyu shared their dreams-pursuing experiences with the majority of young students. Next, the activities will continue to go deep into Changsha, Yueyang, Yiyang, Loudi and other places, and enter schools, communities, enterprises, government agencies, etc., so that more people can understand sports, participate in sports, support sports, and build a strong sports province and a healthy Hunan. Empowerment and efficiency.

This event is hosted by the Provincial Sports Bureau and the Provincial Department of Education, and organized by Hunan Daily New Media Development Co., Ltd.
