Two goals in the first half laid the foundation for the home victory against Mjällby AIF. It was also our fifth consecutive clean sheet in the Allsvenskan.

Key events

1′ The match kicks off.
20′ GOAL! We take the lead at the corner! Pontus Jansson nods in the crossbar and on the return is Sören Rieks who nods in 1–0.
31′ GOAL! Lasse Berg Johnsen hits a perfect cross that Isaac Kiese Thelin splices in with his heel.
64′ We make our first change when Nils Zätterström comes in instead of Martin Olsson.
68′ Erik Botheim challenges in the penalty area and gets a good finish that Noel Törnqvist makes a good save on.
77′ We do a double change. Out go Erik Botheim and Sören Rieks, in come Anders Christiansen and Hugo Bolin.
86′ Taha Ali steps off and Oliver Berg enters.

Henrik Rydström after the match:

– Delighted that we have such a calm and safe match. Everyone knows we played not so many hours ago. With all that that means, the emotional and the disappointment. We ran quite a lot against the Rangers as well. Then we know we’ll be playing again soon.

– We have the first half, minus some sequences, the way we want. The lead affects the second half. When you know that you will soon have a match again, there is a feeling that you need to save yourself. We could have been better with the ball, but apart from two sequences, we defend quite well. Their modes are more the long ball. I am satisfied with the way we make sure the game is played.

– We have been strong here now for a period in the Allsvenskan and are getting the victories we need. We have a lot of faith that we will fix it no matter what. But it’s good with an even bigger margin down. It’s a fantastic situation to be in.
