NKSC statistics show that by the end of September of this year, almost 1,600 reports were recorded about websites created for data extortion in Lithuania. In the same period last year, almost a thousand fewer such cases were recorded – 629. The increasing statistics of recorded cases allow specialists to say that more and more residents respond to possible fraud attempts and report them to the NKSC, thus helping the center to block malicious websites more effectively and thus protect other residents from fraudsters. .
