According to President Gitan Nausėda, the deceased was “a symbol of dance elegance, a talented teacher, a person who dedicated her whole life to the spread of ballet art in Lithuania”.

“This is how we will remember the distinguished prima donna of ballet, with whose name we will always associate a bright contribution to Lithuanian culture and the promotion of our country’s name abroad,” said the country’s leader in the condolences issued by the Presidency.

Condolences were also expressed by Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen.

“We have lost an extremely talented legendary ballerina who created many bright roles. It is indeed a great loss for the cultural community and fans of her work. I sincerely sympathize with them, their family, relatives and colleagues,” states V. Čmilytė-Nielsen’s statement.
