Colombian Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo reiterated that his country will not recognize Nicolás Maduro’s victory in the Venezuelan elections on July 28 until doubts about the legitimacy of the results are dissipated.
“President Gustavo Petro has been very clear, we are not going to recognize the results until the doubts are dissipated, which has not been done and should have been done in accordance with the Venezuelan legal system,” Murillo said on October 1 during a political control debate in the Senate on the Executive’s position regarding the Venezuelan elections.
