Great success at the National Festival of Communities in Hohenau

Asunción, IP Agency.- The city of Hohenau, considered the “capital of immigrants”, celebrated this weekend the 12th edition of the National Collective Festival, with three days to enjoy the rich culture and traditional gastronomy and drinks of the 10 nations that make up this community in the department of Itapúa.

There were three days with activities such as a community parade, coronation of the new queen of the event and various shows. The city’s Park of Nations was the main stage.

The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, highlighted this great event with a greeting and recognition through his social networks; “Great success at the National Festival of Communities in Hohenau. It was a meeting full of color, traditions and emotions, where we celebrated those who have made Paraguay their home, contributing their cultures and dreams to the growth of our country. Congratulations Hohenau,” he said.

During the first day, the artistic presentation of Five Collectives was held, together with the queens who will represent the different nations. There will also be the participation of the Hohenau Municipal Ballet, and musical groups such as The Nemesis, Los Menchos del Chamamé, Karine y Felipe, Los Kalas and the group Senderos.

On Saturday, September 28, the party began earlier, at 3:00 p.m., with the Collective Parade, where contingents from Paraguay, Poland, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Switzerland, Argentina, Ukraine and Belgium will participate. There will also be an Artistic Presentation of Five Communities and the traditional “Message of the Queens.” The San Ignacio Ballet and a concert with groups such as M-Folk, Marcos Kasanetz and Los Calaveras, and Samba Move, from Brazil, also performed.

On Sunday, September 29, the event concluded with the “Queens Night,” and the coronation of the new sovereign of the National Festival of Collectives. There was also a choreographic presentation and typical costumes of the nations, and the Artistic Cast of the Nations, as well as the Hohenau Orchestra, guest artists such as Samba Move, Laura Cáceres and group, also a tribute to Argentine rock with participation from the famous pop rock band “Los Rancheros”, which gave the finishing touch to the closing of the event.

The event was fully broadcast live by Paraguay TV, a member of the State media of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (Mitic).
