Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the leader of the “European Solidarity” faction, Petro Poroshenko, has made almost 130 trips to the front, supporting brigades and battalions of the Defense Forces. He estimated that the total distance of his trips exceeded 200 thousand kilometers.
From February 25, except for two months when Kyiv was semi-encircled, he visited the front almost every week. The average distance of each trip exceeds one and a half thousand kilometers. If we take into account that the length of the equator is 40 thousand kilometers, then the politician managed to travel about 4.5 equators.
“This is the East, near Chasovoy Yar, and Slov’yansk, Kramatorsk, and Pokrovsk, and the south, Orikhove, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson. And now the north, Vovchansk, Sumy, Kharkiv,” says Poroshenko.
“Who can do more – please compete. And it’s even better to compete in helping the Armed Forces,” he added.
Petro Poroshenko noted that 80% of calls from the military concern requests for help with equipment or drones. He emphasized that he cannot always satisfy all requests, but when it is a joint position of a company or battalion on important lines of defense, help is provided in priority order.
Poroshenko announced that his team contracted 40,000 FPV drones, which is almost 20% of the total supplies to Ukraine. These drones are critical to defense as brigades cannot fight effectively without them. He also noted the importance of drones deployed by volunteers to secure the frontline.
“When they say that, listen, Poroshenko is doing it for PR. I wouldn’t do it like that. I would gladly direct my strength and my money to the development of the latest types of weapons and defense. But when they call you every week and tell you about the critical situation on one or another part of the front – we don’t go to the front to take a selfie and come back. We go to the front in order to respond to requests and cries for help from our brothers. And we will not stop, and we will not stop doing it,” Petro Poroshenko sums up.
